It is hard to believe that November is already here. October flew by quicker than a witch on a broomstick. We here at Fifty Thrifty and Fabuless hope everyone had a fun and safe All Hallows Eve. Vicky and I sure did. We went to a great Halloween bash at one of our favorite places ever, Murphs Country Music Barn in Cedar Hill, Tennessee. And of course we went in style, thrifted style that is…. We didn’t spend a lot of money on our costumes, so we had more cash for treats. No tricks for us!
The owners and proprietors, Murph and Lavonne Winters are great folks and boy do they know how to throw a spooktacular party. Guests brought wonderful food to share for a delicious buffet, there was a costume contest, a cake walk, and LOTS of good music.
Thanks to the members of the Starliters Band for keeping the guys and ghouls on their dancing feet all night. Members of the band include, Marty White, lead singer and guitar, Shelton Bissell, Saxophone, Ted Nicholson, drums, Sheldon Babeck , keyboards, Terry Wendt, steel, Andy Stimpson and Murph on bass. You guys ROCK! A friend of ours Carlos Curtis was also a guest singer, and he was sweet enough to sing Brown eyed Girl for me. Thanks Carlos!
If you get a chance you definitely need to visit Murphs Country Music Barn. ANY Saturday night spent there is time well spent. The music is awesome, the dance floor is nice and large, and it is a nice friendly atmosphere. They also have a great kitchen and you can buy some yummy food at great prices. Dinner AND dancing in one place, what a fabuless deal!
They also have an auction on Friday nights. There is always a large variety of merchandise to bid on. You never know what deal you may come away with, so check it out. Christmas will be here before we know it so get a jump start on that shopping at Murphs.
You can check out Murphs Country Music Barn on Facebook for their phone number if you want any additional information. They also have directions on how to get there on their page. Come on out and tell them the ladies from Fifty Thrifty and Fabuless sent you. Of course we will probably be there too….
We haven’t forgotten our blog is about thrifting so here is the lowdown on the cost of our costumes. Vicky’s red skirt 99 cents GW, red boots gifted, red wig sale Walmart, horns and blouse borrowed, red gloves sale Walmart too.
Teresa’s black dress, $2.99 from Goodwill. Black leather vest, 4.98 from City Thrift, Fishnets and gloves, gifted. Black boots, $7.99 and black wings $1.99 from GW, also. Halo was on sale at Walmart. Vicky actually got by being a little more thrifty than me THIS time, but the vest and boots I will be able to wear even when I am not being a “fallen” angel!
Hey, this is Vicky, don’t tell T but I might still get the best of her I am planning on wearing that little red skirt some Saturday night when she least expects it. Na-na-na
